250W dual-output dc/dc converter aimed at railway and other extreme environments
Absopulse Electronics extended its 15 to 500 W track-borne family with the RWY 252H Series dual-output, railway quality, DC/DC converters. RWY 252H use high efficiency power conversion technology to deliver a complete 250W power solution from a compact 113x60x200mm enclosure.
The converters meet EN50155 for equipment used on safety critical railway rolling stock RWY's are suitable for many railway applications including wireless communication systems, Wi-Fi, video monitoring, PA systems and certain control systems. The units may also be used in industrial, mining, military, marine and other extreme environments. The RWY 252H converters have two fully independent, regulated isolated output stages, each providing any single voltage between 5V and 110Vdc. Output V1 has a 140W power capacity and output V2, a 110W power capacity. Nominal input voltages are 24V, 36V, 48V, 72V, 96V or 110Vdc with EN50155 input ranges. Efficiency is typically 85% at full load, depending on the input/output configuration.
Protection features include 3000Vdc input/output isolation, reverse polarity protection, overload protection and current limiting. An optional LED can be installed to indicate an output “ON” condition. The series operates within a -40°C to +70°C cold plate temperature range for full specification. The units are entirely encapsulated with a thermally conductive MIL-grade silicon rubber compound, which provides immunity to high levels of shock and vibration (EN61373/IEC61373), moisture, dust and airborne contaminants. They meet EN50121-3-2 and EN55022 Class B conducted and radiated EMI, and relevant EN61000 immunity standards, ensuring minimum interference with sensitive electronic equipment.
