Fairchild selects Magwel's Power Transistor Modeling tool to design and verify high current power devices
October 21, 2010 | Paul Buckley | 222901656
Fairchild Semiconductor has selected Magwel's Power Transistor Modeling (PTM) tool for use in its design and verification of high current power devices.
Magwel offers a family of products for analog and RF extraction and simulation. In addition to PTM, Magwel's Substrate Noise Analysis (SNA) tool helps to analyze and reduce the majority and minority carriers injected into the substrate when a large power device turns on and off.
"Fairchild is focused on providing leading-edge power management components that enable energy efficiency in electronic devices," said Terry Johnson, Director, Automation Development, Fairchild Semiconductor . "The PTM tool from Magwel met all of our requirements including accuracy, capacity, ability to handle complex device architectures, ease-of-use and price. This tool enables our designers to optimize our products for performance, area and reliability."
