MicroDIP bridge rectifiers simplify board layout, reduces bill of materials

March 22, 2012 | Paul Buckley | 222904330
Fairchild Semiconductor is helping designers rise to the challenge facing designers of mobile products trying to reduce space and simplify board layout with the MDBxS series of MicroDIP Bridge Rectifiers, one of the lowest package height, 1 A bridge rectifiers available.
The MDBxS series is designed to meet the needs of space constrained systems such as mobile device battery chargers and power adapters, as well as Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices including IP surveillance cameras. With a package height of 1.45 mm maximum, the MDBxS series can fit into tight spaces.

The integrated design and small package size reduces component count, saving up to 75 percent board space when compared to traditional discrete bridge rectifier solutions. The family currently consists of three parts – the MDB6S (600 V), MDB8S (800 V), and MDB10S (1000 V) with 50 V-400 V versions in development.

Availability and Pricing

Samples of the MDB6S, MDB8S, MDB10S are available now with pricing at $0.21 in 1,000 quantity pieces.
