Nesscap appoints Easby Electronics as UK ultracapacitor distributor
May 24, 2012 | Paul Buckley | 222904647
The distribution agreement enables Easby to offer the widest array of standard commercial products in the market, based on industry recognized alternative organic electrolytes. The deal is a natural extension to existing business built on capacitors and relays, with markets including transportation, power, and consumer.
Easby will supply the entire Nesscap range from the small 1.5 F radial ultracapacitors and pseudo capacitors, through tabbed, cylindrical and prismatic cells (5000 F) and cell balancing kits, up to fully balanced modules, which offer a plug and play solution enabling large systems to be easily implemented.
Long-lifetime Nesscap ultracapacitors operate for up to 500k cycles for small leaded cells, up to 1 million cycles for larger cylindrical cells. The devices require zero maintenance and offer excellent low-temperature capabilities. Functions such as engine start, start/stop, battery life extension and pulse power requirements are already benefiting from this technology. Other benefits to ultracapacitor customers include quality management systems approved to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and TS16949.
“Adding ultracapacitors to the line card enables Easby to address a market that has seen very positive growth over the past few years,” said Tim Morris, Managing Director. “With a strong background of design-in and flexible customer support, we are very well placed to support the specialist area of ultracapacitors.”
