TDK Corporation has introduced the TDK-Lambda ZWS-B series printed circuit board type AC-DC power supplies – 30% smaller, lighter weight and more efficient range of power supplies than the earlier generation ZWS series.
Reinforcing TDK-Lambda’s ‘green’ product initiative, the ZWS-B series complies with the energy saving requirements of the ErP (Energy related Products) Directive, featuring a <0.5W no load input power. Ideal for use in a wide range of light industrial equipment and front-end equipment for broadcast and communications applications, the ZWS-B is also well-suited for applications in indoor and outdoor LED signage and test & measurement.
Available in three low power models – the ZWS10B (10W), ZWS15B (15W) and ZWS30B (30W) – the ZWS-B series is a compact product that offers an efficiency of up to 86%. In addition, the ZWS-B convection-cooled power supplies feature an operating temperature range of -10 to +70°C, allowing 100% load operation in a +50°C environment and 70% load at +60°C.
Operating from a universal input of 85 to 265 Vac or 120 to 370 Vdc, the ZWS-B series is offered with a choice of output voltages from 3.3 V to 24 V. Each model can be adjusted by ±10% of its nominal voltage to accommodate non-standard system voltages. Standard features include over current and over voltage protection circuitry; options include remote on/off feature, L-plate or L-plate plus cover, conformal coating of the PCB and a fixed output voltage.
The ZWS-B series from TDK-Lambda meets the conducted and radiated EMC requirements of EN55011/EN55022-B, FCC-B and VCCI-B, as well as IEC61000-4-2, -3, -4, -5, -6, -8, -11 immunity and safety approvals to UL/CSA/EN60950-1 and EN50178 (OV II). Delivered with TDK-Lambda’s five-year warranty, backed up with a 10-year electrolytic capacitor lifetime, the ZWS-B series carries the CE mark, according to the LV Directive.
