Enhanced MOSFET relays reduce costs

Omron Electronic Components Europe has launched two general purpose MOSFET relays featuring enhanced performance including improved dielectric strength at what the company says will be a very competitive price.

The general purpose devices are suitable for a huge range of applications including building automation, security, communications systems, industrial control and battery powered systems.

The Omron G3VM-61VY2 and G3VM-351VY are cost-effective MOSFET relay solutions for a wide range of 60V and 350V AC or DC switching applications. A significant feature of these devices is their high dielectric strength, at 3750V between the inputs and the outputs.

Both devices offer an enhanced specification compared to existing Omron solutions. The G3VM-61VY2 has a higher continuous load current of 500mA, with an on resistance R on of just 2 Ω. The G3VM-351VY offers a faster turn-off time than previously, of 0.5ms maximum, 0.1ms typical. Other improvements include a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +110 °C for both devices. 

The G3VM-61VY2 and G3VM-351VY MOSFET relays are halogen free and compliant  with JEDEC reflow solder profile. Packaged in a special SOP-4 pin format, they are pin compatible with existing Omron MOSFET relay styles. Omron is offering the devices in a choice of tube and tape and reel packaging.
